MISSION STATEMENT

The BC Summer Swimming Association (BCSSA) promotes, and encourages the development of athletes and volunteers through participation in speed swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  • Through its member clubs, BCSSA will provide opportunities for training, competition and activities in communities throughout BC and surrounding areas.
  • BCSSA promotes the development of an individual's capacity to achieve excellence and life skills through participation in competitive aquatic activities.

May 9th 2012 - Provincial Time Info Sheet from 2011. Great reference for 2012.
Thank-You to the Merritt Otters Coaches, who have put together a sheet, which is an excellent quick reference to know what where swimmers are ranked roughly and where they would have been in 2011 at Provincials. May 1st 2012 - Welcome to the 2012 Season
Well the 2012 season is here and we have only 16 weeks until Provincials in Nanaimo. To kick off the season we are launching our new logo! You would have seen it in the top corner... It will take time to convert all of our documents and resources will the new logo, but we hope you like it.

April 30th 2012 - Parent Relay Registration
Do you want to run a Parent Relay at your Swim Meet this year, and some parents aren't registered BCSSA athletes? Now you can register them under this 2-day Parent Relay membership category and the parents will be registered with BCSSA and covered by our insurance. More Info>>

March 22nd 2012 - Swim Clinics with Three-time Olympian Brian Johns
WRASA, along with head coach Brian Johns and assistant head coach Ben Berg have organized three intensive swim clinics for April and May 2012. The three clinics focus on strong starts, mid-race break-out and fast finishes. Brian and Ben have also included an important component on injury prevention through dry-land training activities. Ben and Brian have run many clinics in the past and together are bringing some of the elite training techniques used at national and Olympic training levels. Because of the advanced nature of the programs, the clinics are only open to swimmers aged 10 to 15. Download the flyer for details.
