The 2012 Championships are scheduled for August 13th - 19th,

BCSSA is excited to be moving over to the Island for a week during the 2012 Provincial
Championships, hosted by the Vancouver Island Organizing Committee (VIOC) and BCSSA.
The meet will be held at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre in Nanaimo. The pool is close to
the Ice Rinks and Vancouver Island University.
We hope that the information provided on this page, will give athletes and
their families useful information about Nanaimo and the Provincial Championship
Venue.
BCSSA is making an effort to reduce our waste at the
Provincial Championships. We ask that deck officials and volunteers bring a
Coffee Mug and/or a Reusable Water Bottle as we want to reduce the amount of
Styrofoam cups and disposable water bottles we use. Thank-You!

August 17th to 19th - Speed Swimming
Nanaimo Aquatic Centre
The Nanaimo Aquatic Centre is located in Nanaimo at 741 Third Street,
Nanaimo, V9R 2B7. The pool will host all four disciplines of the BCSSA. The swimming portion
of the meet will be run as a double-ended meet for heats and single-ended for
finals.
There will be an on-site concession available for all attendees, spectators

Day Parking & Travel
There is plenty of parking at the Aquatic Centre and the surrounding lots. Certain
areas will be allocated to day parking for the locals and families staying in
hotels. Parking attendants will be available to offer directions.
RV Parking & Reservations
Those who wish to bring their RV to the Provincial Championships will need to
make a reservation online and pay the associated fees. All reservations will be
done online. The BCSSA Office will be administering permits and answering

Accommodations in Nanaimo
The BCSSA has been informed that as of October 2011 almost all room at local
hotels have been booked. We suggest calling around and putting your name on
waiting lists and try to secure yourself a room. The only other option is
staying in a hotel in either Parksville or Ladysmith, which is just outside of
Nanaimo. The Vancouver Island University dorms are also filling up and the Local
Committee will do their best to try and get more rooms for participants.
