BCSSA represents over 5,000 competitive swimmers registered in more than 60
clubs across BC. In addition, another 5,000 people participate in other
volunteer activities within the Association.
The organization follows a mandate of promoting, and encouraging the
development of athletes and volunteers through participation in speed swimming,
diving, water polo and synchronized swimming.
As an organization of 8 regional sections, BCSSA ensures each region conducts
competitions and recreational programming to meet their swimmers' needs.
Programs and activities BCSSA is involved in range across a broad spectrum,
including coaching, officiating, swimming education, event co-ordination,
promotion and communications. These activities receive support from the board
and management, ensuring the efficient use of BCSSA's resources.
