The BCSSA Pool of Fame was established in 1998 to honour outstanding athletes
and individuals who have made significant and positive contributions, in or out
of the pool, to the BCSSA, its goals and purposes. There are three categories
for the Pool of Fame:
BUILDER
A builder directs aquatic athletes in a leadership capacity. A builder
is a coach, trainer, manager, official, administrator, volunteer,
facility/program developer, or media member, but, is not a professional
promoter, sponsor or fundraiser in the employ of BCSSA.
COMPETITOR
Candidates must have concluded their careers as active athletes for a
minimum of three aquatic seasons before their election except for outstanding
pre-eminence and skill, however the committee may reduce or eliminate such a
waiting period.
NEWSMAKER
Newsmakers shall be chosen on the basis of their abilities,
sportsmanship, character, and their contribution to the BCSSA, its good
reputation and to aquatics in general.
