BCSSA Officials Information

Welcome to the 2013 summer swim season. We are excited to be in our 55th year, bringing together over 60 clubs and 5400 youth to swim in a fun and fair competitive environment. To ensure that swim meets and events are run in a fair and fun manner, we require dedicated volunteers to take on deck officiating positions and this is where you [the parents] come in.

We welcome back many officials who continue to volunteer their time over the summer, and also welcome the new officials who have decided to support the BCSSA and your kids.

Please ensure that you register yourself if you are a new official. You can click on the Officials Registration link on the left hand side of this page. If you ever have any questions it is best to direct them to your Club's Director of Officials or your Regional Director of Officials.

How do I move up the Officiating Ladder?     Junior > Intermediate > Senior > Master

Moving up the officiating ladder will come with experience. The more experience you get in a variety of officiating positions, the faster you will move up the ladder towards becoming a master official. The document below outlines the Officiating Certification Program and what positions you must gain experience in to become a deck official. If you have questions, please contact your Regional Director of Officials.

If you want more information about each deck position then take a look at the Officials Duties & Pins web page, which will provide you with a quick overview.
