Recipients of the 2020 BCSSA Scholarships are announced!

BC Summer Swimming Association is pleased to announce the 2020 recipients of its scholarship awards for BCSSA members, coaches, and volunteers.

We recognize that our future strength as an organization is in our membership, our swimmers, our coaches, and our volunteers. Our scholarship program reflects our commitment to our membership, supporting their growth and development as individuals, through their education.

The field of candidates was strong this year and it was difficult to choose the recipients. All applicants should congratulate themselves on their accomplishments and be prepared to submit applications for consideration again next year.

Ian Allen Scholarship is awarded to deserving current and/or past BCSSA member who are planning to, or are presently attending post-secondary institution, in recognition of their commitment and dedication to BCSSA and the community. Preference is given to individuals who have not previously been awarded a BCSSA scholarship or prize. Each recipient receives $2,000 towards tuition at a post-secondary institution.

Regional Prizes are awarded to a maximum of 1 deserving candidate in each of the 8 BCSSA regions. Preference is given to individuals who have not previously been awarded a BCSSA scholarship or prize. Each recipient receives $1,000 towards tuition at a post-secondary institution.

Addison van Genne (OK Region: Princeton Kokanees)
Tim Baker (SF Region: Coquitlam Sharks)
(Jason Parish Memorial Scholarship Award)
Ernest Hoptioncann (VD Region: Vancouver Vikings)
Myia Dunn (VI Region: Comox Valley Blue Devils)

BCSSA Coach Award: BCSSA recognizes a BCSSA Coach who is returning to complete their education at a post-secondary institution with a $500 award, payable towards tuition.
